Elon Musk is a South African-born entrepreneur and businessman.
He was born on June 28, 1971, in Pretoria, South Africa, and has also lived in Johannesburg and Durban.
In 1989, 17-year-old Musk moved to Canada to attend Queen’s University where he also obtained his Canadian citizenship.

After two years at Queen’s University, he then got a scholarship to go to the University of Pennsylvania where he earned two bachelor’s degrees in physics and economics.
Musk then moved to Silicon Valley, California, to attend Stanford University’s PhD program at the age of 24, but quit after two days, according to Fortune.
