Who is Jeopardy! contestant Mattea Roach?
A 23-year-old from Nova Scotia – a province in Canada – Mattea Roach became a member of Jeopardy! history with her 11th win on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
Mattea kicked off her tenure on April 5, and racked up $17,281 on April 19, bringing her final total winnings to $244,882.
“It feels wild,” Mattea said per the Jeopardy! website, after initially qualifying for the Tournament of Champions.
“After the fourth game, I was thinking, ‘I really want to be in that TOC,’ especially with the incredible season and all the amazing streaks and fantastic players that have been on.”
Mattea continued: “To be a Canadian on Jeopardy! is always very special.
“Alex Trebek’s legacy is such a big part of the show.”
She added: “So, yeah, I’m just glad that I’m putting on a good show for all the folks back up North.”
Mattea currently works as a tutor in Toronto, Ontario and viewers can watch her try to secure her 12th win on Wednesday, April 20.

Others believe Ken will snag the resident gig after announcing he left The Chase, another quiz-based game show.
