Who is John Mulaney?
Born on August 26, 1982, John Mulaney is a native of Chicago.
Mulaney grew up as an altar boy, and has four siblings – two brothers (one deceased) and two sisters.
At the age of seven years old, Mulaney joined the Chicago children’s sketch comedy group, The Rugrats.
He attended St. Clement Junior High School, performing written reports in the format of a skit.
After graduating from St. Ignatius College Prep in 2000, Mulaney began to attend his parents’ alma mater: Georgetown University.
The comedian majored in English and minored in theology, joining the school’s improv group alongside Nick Kroll and Mike Birbiglia.
In 2004, Mulaney graduated college and moved to New York City.
He was hired as an office assistant at Comedy Central before stepping down from his position to work freelance.

Was John Mulaney in rehab?
In December of 2020, comedian John Mulaney checked into a Pennsylvania rehab facility following a resurgence of his addiction to alcohol, cocaine, and prescription drug use.
At the time of his admission, a source close to him said: “John’s friends and family are happy that he’s finally getting some help and focusing on his health.”
In February of 2021, Mulaney moved into outpatient care.
Following the comedian’s stint in rehab, Mulaney and his ex-wife Annamarie Tendler decided to divorce after six years of marriage.
