JULIA Bradbury made her name presenting the likes of Countryfile and Watchdog, before cornering the rambling market as the charismatic host of a series of BBC walking shows.

However, the TV star has revealed she is battling breast cancer.

Who is Julia Bradbury?

Julia Bradbury was born in Dublin on July 24, 1970, but moved to England in her early years, attending school in Sheffield.

She left school at 16 and started out on a TV career on cable channels Chrysalis TV and L!VE TV before moving onto terrestrial telly as Los Angeles correspondent for GMTV.

Julia is perhaps best known for her stints presenting long-running shows Countryfile from 2004 to 2014 and Watchdog between 2005 and 2009.

However, she’s fronted a wide variety of shows on the BBC and ITV including Planet Earth Live, Kill It, Cook It, Eat It and Take On the Twisters.

Since 2007, when she presented Wainwright Walks on BBC Four, Julia has become synonymous with walking programs – even being dubbed the “Walking Man’s Totty”.

Her work has included shows such as Coast to Coast, Canal Walks, South Africa Walks, Icelandic Walk and German Wanderlust.

She’s also published five books on the subject with the most recent, Unforgettable Walks, published last year.

Is she married and does she have any children?

Julia has three children with her husband Gerard Cunningham – a son, Zephyrus, born in 2011 and twin girls Xanthe and Zena who arrived in 2015.

The presenter was back in front of the camera just six months after giving birth to her twins, and credited pole dancing with transforming her body after the birth.

She revealed her passion for her new fitness hobby during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine.

Julia said: “I got a pole last year, it’s one of those expandable ones which you can put up anywhere in the house.

“It’s literally from floor to ceiling, it goes anywhere. It’s amazing exercise, and very, very difficult to master.

“The art of pole dancing is indeed an art, some might say a dark art but I’m going to go with art.”

The TV presenter bravely underwent a mastectomy to try and stop the cancer from spreading as part of her treatment.

She told fans on Instagram: “I had no idea what life after a #mastectomy would be like.
