Who was Pat Carroll and what was her cause of death?

Patricia Ann Carroll was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on May 5, 1927.

She was an American actress and comedian known for her work in CBS’s The Danny Thomas Show, ABC’s Laverne & Shirley and NBC’s ER.

Carroll’s acting career started in 1947 with the film Hometown Girl, but she was most notably recognized as the voice behind Ursula in the 1989 Disney animated film, The Little Mermaid.

In 1955, she was nominated for a Tony Award in 1955 for her performance in Catch A Star!

A year later, she won an Emmy Award for her work on Caesar’s Hour, a sketch-comedy television program that aired on NBC.

Carroll’s one-woman show on Gertrude Stein won her a Drama Desk award in 1979 and a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word, Documentary or Drama in 1980.

Carroll married Lee Karsian in 1955, however, the pair divorced in 1976.

She and Karsian share three children, including actress Tara Karsian.

On July 30, 2022, the iconic actress passed away at her home on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, according to Deadline.

The 95-year-old was reportedly recovering from pneumonia.

Carroll is survived by her two daughters, Kerry and Tara and granddaughter, Evan Karsian-McCormick.

Her son, Sean Karsian, died in 2009.
