Why did they catch Orson Charles in Ybor City?

A report from the Tampa Police Department says that Orson Charles was arrested early Saturday morning in Ybor City on multiple felony charges after pulling a gun during a fight over a parking space.

Charles, a former athlete, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a gun without showing it, and bringing illegal items into a detention facility. He was found with a small amount of marijuana, which is not enough to be considered a crime.

He joined the Cleveland Browns on July 30, 2018, and made the team’s final roster as the fourth tight end. Orson spent most of the 2018 season as a fullback, even though he was listed as a tight end.

The football player was named to the 2018 Pro Bowl as a fullback, and Browns coaches have said that he is one. Due to an ankle injury, the Browns put him on injured reserve on December 13, 2018.

He re-signed with the Browns on April 3, 2019. The Browns released Charles on August 11, 2019

He joined the Denver Broncos on August 21, 2019, and was let go on August 31, 2019. Charles was re-hired on November 19, 2019, but he was let go three days later.

In the 2020 XFL Draft, the DC Defenders picked Orson in the sixth round. However, he did not sign with the team.

After attacking a police officer with a gun, a former NFL tight end is facing gun charges.

According to the TPD report, the victims were trying to park near the corner of 19th Street and Eighth Avenue around 11:45 p.m. when Orson Charles came from the opposite direction and tried to get into the space.

The former athlete got out of his car and walked up to the driver’s side of the other car. The criminal report affidavit says that when the driver opened the door on the driver’s side to talk to Orson, he took a black gun out from under his shirt.

When the victims said they were police officers and showed their badges, Charles said, “I don’t give a f***; I have one in my head.”

The people who were hurt left the parking spot, but not before telling an off-duty sheriff’s deputy about what happened and keeping an eye on Charles until he was caught. The TPD report says that his permit to carry a gun under his clothes had expired.

Where is Orson Charles? A fight broke out over a parking spot

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said that as of early Saturday afternoon, Orson Charles was still in jail on a $6,250 bond.

On March 31, 2014, in Richmond, Kentucky, he was arrested for putting someone in danger without reason. A police officer pulled Orson over after another driver said that Orson had shown a gun more than once.

In February 2015, the former athlete pleaded guilty to recklessly putting someone in danger and will take part in a diversion program.
