The wellness policy for WWE was first the focus of Lex Luger’s work as a former wrestler and television producer in 2011.

The most consecutive days and overall days spent as the NWA/WCW United States Heavyweight Champion are both held by Lex, a five-time champion.

He is the second Triple Crown winner for WCW. He never took home a WWF championship, although he did challenge for each one, and he shared the 1994 Royal Rumble victory. He received the Most Popular Wrestler of the Year award from Pro Wrestling Illustrated readers in 1993.

Lex Luger Illness: What Happened To The WWE Legend?

When Lex Luger began to have neck problems, he was travelling to San Francisco. When he attempted to reposition his neck, things got worse.

The official wrestler experienced a neck nerve impingement, which briefly rendered him paraplegic. When a nerve is squeezed, it is said to be impinged. The most frequent way for it to occur is when the tissue around the nerve puts too much pressure on it.

Numerous issues, including a spinal infarction that renders the athlete temporarily paralysed, can be brought on by pinched nerves.

But because it was deemed to be small, Luger was treated with intravenous antibiotics. Lex was anticipated to fully recover. Sadly, he ran across a few obstacles on the way.

Even a month after his spinal injury, Lex was a quadriplegic and unable to move any of his limbs.

Update On Lex Luger Spinal Injury And Paralysis

Lex Luger struggled mightily during his recovery period, and he was only able to prevail by sheer internal strength.

By June 2008, the athlete could walk small distances with a walker, and by 2010, he could drive and walk great distances.

The professional wrestler said in a 2010 interview that he could now drive and walk more easily.

By 2014, Lex was frequently utilising a wheelchair, despite the fact that he could still travel short distances on foot, and by 2021, he was totally reliant on a wheelchair.

How Is Lex Luger Health Today?

There haven’t been any recent news stories about Lex Luger’s health that indicate any serious problems, and he seems to be doing fine.

The sportsperson has since relocated to Buffalo, New York. The majority of Lex’s leisure time is spent volunteering at nearby churches and schools. Despite all of the obstacles in his path, Luger has changed his outlook on life and committed himself to assisting others.

At 64 years old, Luger can hardly be recognised as the same wrestler. The legendary wrestler has remained appreciative of his followers throughout that time and frequently shows up at fan gatherings to meet them.

Late in 2002, he began travelling with the WWA in Europe. He made his final WWA appearance on December 13 in Zürich, Switzerland, where Sting defeated him for the WWA World Heavyweight Championship.

Throughout 2004 and 2005, Lex made sporadic appearances on the independent circuit. In the main event of a United Wrestling Federation match in Oklahoma on August 26, 2006, Lex participated and triumphed over Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner.

On September 22, 2007, the official wrestler was admitted into the XWF Hall of Fame.
