Coyote Peterson claims he found “primate skull” in British Columbia

On Thursday, July 7, the 40-year-old YouTuber posted five photos to his social media accounts. The pictures show an infinite part of a skull that has been soaked in filthy water and mud. A few other people see Coyote get the skull out of the muddy pool, where it had fallen in.

The net character writes “BREAKING NEWS” in all of the captions, saying that he “found a big primate skull in British Columbia, filmed it, and then cut the footage.” He also said that he would probably talk about the same thing on this weekend’s episode of his Animal Planet show Brave Wilderness.

“This has been a secret for a few weeks… “YES, I have the skull. It’s in a safe place, waiting for a primatologist to look at it,” Coyote writes. “Absolutely unreal… When we found it, we thought it was a bear skull, but I can say for sure that it is not. The skull was found partially buried in the ground in a deep back forest ravine after a huge storm in the Pacific Northwest, which clearly shook up a lot of trees and earth.

“I don’t know if it’s what you all think it could be… But I don’t know what to think when I find a primate skull in the Pacific Northwest. So, what do you think?” the YouTuber asks.

Scientists ‘shut down’ YouTuber’s claims

Live Science says that experts told them, “Peterson’s claim is very questionable, and taking and moving animal remains across national borders in secret may be against the law.”

The author of The 50 State Fossils: A Guide for Aspiring Paleontologists, Yinan Wang, said that the skull looks almost exactly like a solid gorilla skull that can be bought on AliExpress.

Wang makes a lot of side-by-side comparisons between the AliExpress product and the pictures that Coyote released in a series of tweets.

“From the pictures, it’s not the gorilla skull from Bone Clones. But it looks a lot like this one on Ali Express, which was found by @offshoreoddity. The only difference is that this one has a strange bone on the side of the head,” Wang says on Twitter.

Darren Naish is a vertebrate palaeontologist and science communicator who works all over the U.S.

Ok, an expert told Live Science, “This is definitely a gorilla cranium. This is clear from many anatomical details and has been confirmed by a list of experts.”

“Also, it seems to be the same as casts of a certain gorilla skull that are for sale.”

“We can immediately rule out the possibility that it is the real skull of an unknown primate. Nope. Naish extra said, “It’s a cast of a known species.”

Fans make ‘bigfoot’ jokes after YouTuber’s discovery

After Coyote’s last post, many of his fans started making jokes about the skull being that of a bigfoot.

For those who don’t know, Bigfoot is a popular North American myth. There are many stories about a 7-foot-tall, bushy man who lives in the woods and scares hikers and campers. Their name is widely known as “Sasquatch.”

With a laughing emoji, a fan asked under the YouTuber’s Instagram post, “Has Coyote found #Bigfoot?”

“Then it must be big foot,” joked another fan.

“When does the video for “Getting Bites by a Bigfoot” come out?” asked one fan.
