After deliberating all afternoon, a Florida jury returned a guilty verdict in the murder trial of Anthony Todt, who was charged with killing his wife, three children, and the family dog in 2020.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Todt, 46,  was charged with four counts of murder and animal cruelty. He pleaded not guilty and told jurors during his testimony that his 42-year-old wife, Megan, killed Alek, 13, Tyler, 11, and Zoe, 4, and their dog Breezy, and then killed herself in front of him.

But when he was arrested in January 2020, he confessed to killing his family, only to later say he was covering for his dead wife.

Investigators said he’d spent weeks in the family home in Celebration with the bodies, which were badly decomposed when police arrived. Police discovered the bodies when they were serving a warrant to arrest Todt on health care fraud related to his physical therapy business.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the jury began deliberating just before 12:30 p.m. and at one point reported they were deadlocked. But more than six hours after they began, the jury said it had reached a verdict: guilty on all counts.
