TWO people have reportedly been injured in a shooting near a middle school.
Officials responded to the reported shooting near Edmund Burke Middle School in Washington DC Friday afternoon.
DC Metro Police said they’re responding to reports of “at least two shooting victims” in the area.
According to CBS, a man and a woman were being treated for apparent gunshot wounds.
It’s unclear if the shooting is connected to the school.
Officials with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have also responded to assist DC Metro police.
Officials with the Secret Service have also deployed and are assisting Metro police.
A shelter-in-place order was issued for Howard University following the nearby shooting.
The University of DC was also placed on lockdown, asking its students and staff to “take shelter and stay in place until further notice.”
