His toddler was in the car when he died

His killer approached him and then shot him in front of his two-year-old daughter.

Earlier, Jared had dropped his two older kids off at his ex-wife’s house.

His wife, Kirsten Bridegan, told The Daily Beast the last words her husband said to her.

She had been on the phone with her brother when Jared called so she added him to the call and the three of them chatted for a minute.

She said: “And then my brother dropped off so I could just be talking to Jared and Bexley, who told me, ‘Mom, I got an ice cream.’”

Her husband told her at the end of the conversation: “I’m almost home, see you soon.”

“Now I know that within a few minutes, he was killed.

“The next time somebody answered Jared’s phone, it was a police officer… who told me to come to the Jacksonville Beach Police Department.”

Jared’s wife, Kirsten, told News 4 Jax outlet how she found out about her husband’s death.

Kirsten revealed: “I took the route we normally take to get to the beach.

“And I kept calling his phone. And then one of the policemen answered it. And that’s when I knew my gut feeling was right and something was really wrong.”

With Jared’s perpetrator still at large, his widow has pleaded with the public to report any information they might have to the police.

To honor her late husband’s memory, Kristen is holding a candlelight vigil and tribute to him in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, April 19.

The late Microsoft manager and father of four’s obituary described him as: “an awesome husband, father, son, and friend to many.”

“More than anything in life he enjoyed spending time with his children.”

Florida police officials are still investigating Jared’s death and did not name any suspects.

Jacksonville Beach Police Sergeant, Tonya Tator, told News 4 Jax: “As you can imagine, everything that we do we have to do it the right way in an investigation.”

“So sometimes we have to get subpoenas to look at people’s private information in reference to cell phones, computers, you name it.”
