ARMED Forces veterans will be fast-tracked into crucial jobs, including teaching, the 999 services and prisons, in a victory for The Sun.
They will be offered help as part of a £70million action plan.
It includes retraining as secondary school teachers to help fill national shortages plus a scheme to join prisons.
The Step Into Health NHS programme will be expanded to offer police and fire service jobs.
The Sun campaigned to get veterans into HGV driver jobs as part of our Keep on Trucking appeal.
Minister Steve Barclay said: “All of government is working to make the UK the best place in the world to be a veteran.”
But Labour accused the Government of betraying Commonwealth troops by refusing to scrap £2,400 visa fees.
