A CURFEW is in effect tonight in Long Branch, New Jersey after an alleged TikTok party drew hundreds to the area in the sweltering heat.
The curfew is in effect through 5am on May 22, according to the Long Branch Police Department.
In a statement announcing the curfew, police cited “public safety concerns.”
“During the hours of the curfew, all persons are prohibited from using, standing, sitting, traveling or being present on any public street or in any public place,” the statement continues.
The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office released its own statement via Twitter after the “large scale event,” saying, “non residents need to leave the area.”
A large party was reportedly being held in Pier Village.
The party may be the result of a social media advertisement for a “Beach Linkup.”
The ad calls for people to bring their own liquor and weed. The party started at 12pm but had no given end time.
