Child-killers
THE dead and mutilated bodies of women and children lay bare the monstrous and deranged evil of Vladimir Putin.
Our fear is that we may be only scratching its surface.
He and his serial liars in the Kremlin said they would never invade Ukraine.
Then they said they would only target military installations.
Now they have cluster-bombed shopping centres and apartment blocks and massacred a Kyiv schoolgirl with her family in their car.
How proud Putin and his cowardly lackeys must be as they look at young Polina’s face today.
How proud young Russian soldiers and their families back home must be too. Mother Russia is slaughtering her neighbour’s children to steal their country.
Moscow’s terrorist rulers murder, rob and lie again and again. And now — suddenly realising they have bitten off way more than they can chew — they threaten to up the ante into nuclear war.
Their excuse? That our Foreign Secretary Liz Truss was nasty to them.

It is jaw-dropping to see so many British commentators and Twitter numbskulls debase themselves by claiming some moral equivalence between Nato, a defensive alliance of democratic nations, and the Kremlin’s murderers.
The West is not perfect. Nor is our own Government. But hatred of both has led some into a dark place from which they badly need to emerge.
The wickedness in this war is all on one side and it shames them they cannot see it.
Even historically neutral nations have done so this time and are acting on it.
It is time China did too . . . and pulled the plug on Putin. Our sanctions began crippling his economy yesterday. But China, Russia’s biggest trading partner, still provides him a lifeline.
It too is guilty of horrific crimes. But if it is interested in rehabilitating its own reputation it should not merely abstain on UN votes and tut at Putin.
Penalty at last
FIFA should be ashamed it took so long to do the right thing.
A total football ban on Russia is the only proper course, especially after the International Olympic Committee recommended it.
Fifa must enforce it not just as long as Russia occupies Ukraine but as long as Putin’s mob occupies the Kremlin. Lifting it can be the prize for ousting them.
What a result for Russia’s people that would be.

It should impose its own punitive sanctions which will isolate him entirely and, alongside the West’s belated but admirably united front, may force him back inside his own borders.
In time, we hope, the Russian people — globally disgraced and bankrupted by their President — will take care of the rest.
