THE family of a mum and daughter who died days apart told of their heartbreak after a sick cop was caught bragging about the tragedy.
Casey Hood, 18, was killed in a horrific car crash near Canterbury in September 2018.

After the crash, mum Natalie Hood wrote “I just want my little girl” on Facebook – hours before she tragically died of an overdose.
On the night of Casey’s death, PS David Oates was chasing a Toyota Yaris – driven by Lucy Leadbeater, 27 – which crashed into a tree near Canterbury.
Passenger Casey died at the scene, while Leadbeater – who was drunk – later died in hospital.
After the crash, the cop frequently sent “bragging” emails and WhatsApp messages to other officers about the victims and the accident.
Casey’s grandmother Carol Hood, 72 – whose daughter Casey died days after the crash – spoke of her disgust at PS Oates’ actions.
She told Kent Online: “I just don’t understand it at all, how people can say things and act like that.

“It’s just terrible. He deserved to get what he’s got, losing his job.”
Ray, 73, added: “I’m glad that he did get the sack.
“I just can’t understand why people behave in that manner. They’re dealing with people’s lives, and people who are trying to rebuild [their lives].”
PS Oates was also accused of bullying a junior female colleague after a “flirtatious” relationship ended – and of making “derogatory” comments about co-workers.
He has now been sacked from Kent Police.
Detective Superintendent Mat Scott said the force’s Professional Standards Department were aware of “insensitive and offensive comments” made by PS Oates.
‘OFFENSIVE’
He added: “The content of these messages was thoroughly reviewed and were part of the misconduct proceedings commenced against the officer.
“He was suspended from his duties at the commencement of the original investigation and did not return to work.
“In March 2022, the officer was found to have committed gross misconduct and was dismissed without notice.
“The relatives of the deceased women were also informed of the misconduct proceedings and were apprised on the content of the messages.
“They were also kept updated on the progress of the misconduct proceedings.
“All officers and staff at Kent Police are expected to adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and conduct at all times.
“Those who fall short will always face scrutiny and proportionate action.”
