Tyrese Gibson said goodbye to his beloved mother Patricia on Monday, after she passed away following a week of being hospitalized from COVID-19 and pneumonia.

The 43-year-old actor and musician posted a touching video on Monday of him holding his mother’s hand in the hospital, along with a heartfelt message about her.

His post prompted a slew of support and condolences from celebrities such as Snoop Dogg and Dwayne ‘The Rock Johnson.’

‘Rest in peace. You fought, mom, you fought. Oh my God I’m so sorry this happened mom. I’m gonna hold your hand for the rest of my life, OK,’ Gibson said in the video through tears.

‘Everywhere I go, I’m gonna hold your hand, the way you held my hand when I was a kid. Every journey this life takes me to from here on, you’re gonna hold my hand mom, OK?’ he said as the video ended.

He added in the caption, ‘On behalf of my family and everyone who ever spent anytime praying tor my mother This is the saddest moment of my life………. My sweet Valentine just passed away,’ Tyrese began.

Gibson has been sending numerous updates about his mother since she was first hospitalized on February 5, revealing in an Instagram post that she was in a coma battling both COVID and pneumonia.
