Eddie Olczyk played center for the Chicago Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, and Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League for 16 seasons.
He was a star on the Illinois midget AAA squad while growing up in Niles and Palos Heights, Illinois (Team Illinois). His team defeated a Detroit Compuware team to win the national championship in 1982.
The legend won the Stanley Cup with the Rangers in 1994, after setting numerous amateur records and winning numerous trophies.

August 8, 2017, was the day, Olczyk stated through the Blackhawks that he had been diagnosed with stage three colon cancer.

But, after undergoing several medical procedures and chemotherapy, the doctors removed 14 inches of his colon from his body, and, finally, in March 2018, he announced that he was officially cancer-free. The
Following the victory in the cancer battle, in October 2019, he released his autobiography titled “Eddie Olczyk: Beating the Odds in Hockey and in Life,” sharing the details of his fight with stage 3 colon cancer.
However, for now, the undergoing rumor about his illness is just another rumor.
Illness And Health Update
The former hockey player was sick back in the days but, now he is as healthy as a horse.
As discussed above, he suffered the third stage of colon cancer and, after a year, successfully got it removed from his body.
Since he has not revealed any other new cases related to his health, he is illness-free with sound health.

Diana Olczyk and Eddie first met on a flight, but details after that sweet acquaintance are missing.
Certainly, the couple is together for a couple of decades and in the duration, they gave birth to four children Nick, Zandara, Tom, and Eddie.
Two of them, Nick and Tom are hockey players playing for Colorado College Tigers and Indy Fuel respectively. Similarly, Eddie III is an assistant coach with the Bemidji State Beavers. Further, the younger brother Rick is a former hockey player for Brown University, now working as an assistant general manager for the Seattle Kraken.
Lastly, daughter Zandra is a student at the University of Alabama.
