Kyrie Irving has become the talk of the league in the offseason. After major talks of leaving the Nets, he opted in for his final year. However, the conversations of a potential reunion with LeBron James keep hounding KAI. While his future remains to be uncertain a former NBA player took it to the past. 3-time dunk champion Nate Robinson ran back in time remembering his epic duel with Kyrie.
In a league where short players struggle, Robinson made an 11-year career. Moreover, the 5’9″ star could jump out of the arena. Despite being of short stature, Robinson was the star of the show with his crafty dunks. The aerial threat won 3 dunk contests which is the most in NBA history. And when he went up against KAI during a pro-am showdown, it was a game for the ages.
Kyrie Irving took to Twitter to raise a glass with Nate Robinson reliving their epic duel back in the day.

Kyrie Irving and Robinson put on a show
In 2013, KAI and Nate met on the floor during the Nike Pro City summer league. Two of the finest dribblers were ready to go at it. Likewise, they did. However, not even the fans saw what was about to unfold in front of their eyes. In a game that had it all, the pair combined for nearly 100 points. And it was a time Kyrie established himself as the most skilled player of his size.
The Nike Pro City summer league saw an offensive blood bath. The game went into overtime with Kyrie’s team coming out on the top. In the NBA showdown, a veteran Robinson put up 44 points. However, his effort was shadowed by a Kyrie Irving masterclass. The 7-time All-Star went off for 47 points in the overtime thriller. 9 years later, Nate gave Irving a shoutout for the battle.

While the dunk master retired in 2015, Irving is living in his prime. But he is caught in a tricky spot. His teammate, Kevin Durant is getting ready to pack his bags for a move away from Brooklyn. This has left Irving alone. Already having accepted his fate for staying with the Nets, KAI needs to have a redemption season. Likewise, still having the handles of god, it is not wise to count Irving out.
