Daniel Cormier and Khabib Nurmagomedov getting inducted into the Hall of Fame is a piece of great news for their fans. After all, both the fighters had huge fights during their tenure with the promotion. Hence, them finally being a part of the Hall of Fame is no surprise. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported a small line from Cormier’s Hall of Fame speech on Twitter.
Cormier reportedly said, “Guys, I think I grabbed the towel in Buffalo.”
Okamoto hilariously added to the tweet, “No, DC! Lies! I refuse to believe it.”

‘DC’ said, “I think I may have grabbed the towel in Buffalo. I walk back to the back after missing weight by 1.2 pound… I tried to give it up guys, trust me.”
One controversial aspect of Cormier’s professional MMA career has been the towel grab in order to make weight. At UFC 210, Cormier had to be surrounded by towels to make weight. Incidentally, he rested his hands on the towel. While he successfully made weight, many called him out for it as the action could have resulted in him making perfect weight.
Thus, during his Hall of Fame induction speech, Cormier addressed the issue. He spoke about the “old wrestler trick”.
