F1 has rocked up in some style for the inaugural Miami Grand Prix this weekend. The event has attracted many celebrities and athletes around the world, like NASCAR champion Kevin Harvick. The NASCAR driver, who came to the Hard Rock Stadium for the race with his whole family, took to social media to thank Mobil1 for their hospitality.

In the same tweet, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver revealed his son is a massive fan of the Red Bull driver and F1 world champion Max Verstappen.

“Surprised @KeelanHarvick with a trip to the #MiamiGP today for practice day. He’s a huge @Max33Verstappen fan, so his day was made! Thanks for the hospitality @Mobil1 made a kids day!” wrote Harvick.

It would have been nice for Keelan to see his favorite driver go around the track, but he would not have gotten to see him drive for many laps as Verstappen had a terrible start to the weekend.
Max Verstappen reveals his feelings after sitting out almost the entire FP2 in Miami
The world champion could not do any meaningful laps in the FP2 session as he faced a hydraulics issue. He was supposed to run a new gearbox after he clipped the wall in FP1, but could not test it out.

Max mentioned it was a terrible start to the weekend for him. “Yes, just not a good day, and of course these days [it is] extremely painful, especially on a track like this where you want to be out there and learn the track and get up to speed. So, I basically did four or five laps today – fast laps – so that’s not what you want.”
“I mean, of course I’ll try to catch up, but it’s just not ideal. Everyone is of course a bit more into the running; but not only that, we have no information on my car with what we have to do, so yes, it’s extremely painful.”

It is definitely not the start to a new race that the Dutch driver would have hoped for. Verstappen is clearly behind his rivals in terms of on-track running. So it would be interesting to see how he recovers. Hopefully, he can make up lost time and get himself ready for today’s qualifying session.
