Vince McMahon took the pro wrestling world by storm recently. The former WWE chairman surprised everyone by announcing his retirement earlier this week. This announcement triggered different emotions among fans. Not only fans, even Mr. McMahon’s rivals and friends reacted to his retirement.

The 77-year-old gave his blood and sweat to give WWE global success. And in doing so, he got himself involved in competition and got involved in some rivalry. Recently, one of his rivals, Eric Bischoff, kept their rivalry aside and gave Mr. McMahon some much deserved respect.

During an episode of the 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff said, “AEW, WCW, none of that would have existed had Vince McMahon not proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, in a way that the Crocketts couldn’t do, Verne Gagne couldn’t do, none of the other regional promoters who had these wild ass dreams, knew how to do it, or really had the vision to take wrestling from what it once was (to what it turned out to be).

The former WCW boss claimed many pro wrestling promoters tried to take pro wrestling to the next level. But no one did it like Mr. McMahon as per Bischoff.

Even though Mr. McMahon gets criticized by some individuals, he still has a lot of respect in the pro wrestling world. And when one of his former rivals praise him like this, it just tells a lot about his contributions to this pro wrestling world.
