Tiger Woods lost his chance to win his 16th major at St. Andrews this week. However, he would still return to America with good memories from the 150th Open Championship, especially the standing ovation that he received from the audience on his walk up to the 18th. 

“It was very emotional for me,” Woods described his walk to the last hole. The Open Championship will not return to the home of golf for at least a few years, making the golfer think that it could be his last chance to play the major here. “The fans’… the ovation, the warmth… it was an unbelievable feeling,” he added. 

The video of him getting teary-eyed at Old Course reached millions of golf fans overnight. Everyone, including the former pro-golfer Paige Spiranac, expressed their emotions and appreciation towards the golfer through social media.

Woods has won 100+ titles worldwide, including 15 majors and 18 World Golf Championships. He has also created multiple records throughout his career, some of them still unbroken.
