Manchester United youngster Anthony Elanga was hit in the head by an object thrown from the stands during the Red Devils Premier League clash with Leeds.

The supporters based in the South Stand launched a metal coin at Elanga’s head as the players gathered by the corner flag to celebrate Fred’s goal in the 70th minute. 

Elanga instantly dropped to the ground holding his head and received medical attention on the pitch. However, he was not substituted as a result of the incident.

The incident came after Fred scored to restore Man United's 3-2 lead in the 70th minute

The 19-year-old was brought on by interim manager Ralf Rangnick just three minutes before the commotion took place. 

Speaking of the incident on Sky Sports News, former Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson said: ‘Ugly incident after the goal.

‘I think it was Anthony Elanga who was hit by a coin quite severely on his head. Ugly incidents that we’re seeing yet again.’

However, Elanga did manage to get his own back on the Leeds fans by scoring Manchester United's fourth goal in the 88th minute of the game (above)

The 19-year-old star ran to the away stand and put his finger to his lips as a part of his celebration. 

His goal extended Manchester United’s lead after Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes and Fred had already found the back of the net. 

The game ended 4-2, with the referee having given out at total of nine cards during the game.
