Keeping up with his consistently excellent performances in qualifying, Charles Leclerc is on pole for the Monaco GP. A couple of red flags and incidents throughout the qualifying gave us plenty to talk about. And as one would assume, there was plenty of confusion on the narrow track. And among the confusion, we witnessed some interesting exchanges on the team radio.

On top of that pile is the hilariously frustrating exchange between Charles Leclerc and his track-side engineer. Xavier was as unclear as Leclerc during the first incident caused by AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda. Yuki punctured his tire going into the nouvelle chicane, which brought out the first red flag, which was a bit premature by the stewards, according to most. But this is the incident that produced a hilarious exchange between Leclerc and Xavier.

The conversation went something like this, Xavier: “Pit entry is closed.”

Leclerc: “Red Flag. What do I do now because..”

Xavier: “Box now. Box.”

Leclerc: “No, listen to me, listen to me.”

Xavier continues: “Not come in, stay out, stay out!”

Leclerc, frustratingly: “What do I do?”

Xavier: “Stay out!” and finally the Ferrari man stayed out after a quick, confusing “Okay” to Xavier.

A blocked pit-lane entry provoked this hilarious exchange between the Ferrari pilot and his track-side engineer. The overlapping conversation and a frustrated Leclerc made the exchange much better. However, this was only the first of the many red flags incidents during the qualifying, which eventually even cut short Q3.

But Scuderia will not mind the premature end to Q3, which locked the front grid with the two Ferraris.

Will Charles Leclerc finally see the Monaco chequered flag?

The Ferrari Monegasque showcased his incredible speed and judgment during qualifying on home streets. And this has filled the Ferrari man with confidence. “It is very special, I am so incredibly happy. It has been a very smooth weekend up until now and that last lap before the red flag was really, really good,” said Leclerc.

However, Leclerc has never finished a race in his entire career on his home soil. The Monegasque has somewhat of a curse in Monaco. We hope Leclerc will stay focused throughout the race to see the first chequered flag of his career on home turf. And hopefully, end the curse with a win as well.
