Carlos Alcaraz on the importance of improving each day

During the post-match press conference, the Spaniard took Rafael Nadal’s example to explain the importance of getting better and better. He said, “It was difficult at the beginning, but it’s always special to play in such a good stadium, a great court… I’m really happy with the performance in my first match in the Philippe Chatrier and I hope to play more matches in this court.”

Further, he added, “You have to improve every day even if you’re the best player in the world. Not in my case, but, for example, Rafa says that he’s improving every day. I would say that I have to improve everything. I’m reaching my dream, I’m really happy with playing tennis, playing these kinds of tournaments in these kinds of stadiums is not for everyone, so I would say that’s the best thing.”

Alcaraz’s tough road at the French Open 2022

The Spanish sensation has been handed a tough draw at the clay-court Grand Slam tournament. His potential quarterfinal opponent will be the third seed, Alexander Zverev. Further, a potential clash with either Rafael Nadal or Novak Djokovic will await Alcaraz in the semifinals.
