‘The Atlantic’ journalist, Jemele Hill, succinctly quoted Simone Biles with, “Her greatness is a form of resistance.” In a world full of social media taking over by storm, we often forget to embrace and reward the people from less popular sports or professions. One such example is the legendary gymnast, Simone Biles.

Hill took to Twitter to share her views on the issue. She wrote, “Simone posted a training video of her doing something no other woman has done and it got 3M hits. If you want to argue Logan Paul deserved more coverage, so be it. But the most decorated gymnast of all time deserves… none? Not one post?”

In addition, Hill is known to fearlessly speak her mind, and she displayed a sad truth about our society. The 25-year-old American gymnast, Simone Biles, has already achieved what many athletes take a very long time to do. The journalist pointed out that the major sports media houses were covering Logan Paul extensively, while the extraordinary gymnast had close to no media coverage.

When Jemele Hill castigated her former employer ESPN

Jemele Hill used to work for ESPN before she joined The Atlantic. The journalist has always been the torch-bearer to do her job of showing the reality to the public and delving into unheard topics. Moreover, last year a tweet went viral on the internet that showed the coverage of Logan Paul’s fight with Floyd Mayweather and Olympic legend, Simone Biles.

Hill wrote, “Not a good look. On top of being the best gymnast ever, Simone Biles has over a million Twitter followers and 4 million IG followers, so can’t come the excuse that nobody is interested.”

Moreover, Hill clearly stated that Biles is one of the best gymnasts ever with a sizeable social media following. And she believed that the less interest of the audience was not the case here.

The Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul bout

Logan Paul and legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather fought on June 6, 2021, at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida.

It was billed as ‘Bragging Rights’, and was a much-anticipated match by the fans. Furthermore, it was bound to receive immense media attention with two combatants of such popular stature. Logan Paul impressed everyone as he took the fight a long distance. Despite nobody giving Paul a chance in the fight against Mayweather, he managed to push the undefeated boxer to the brink. This bout ended in a draw, meaning Mayweather kept his undefeated streak intact.
