The Golden State Warriors are back in their peak run as they make a trip to the Western Conference Finals. After being down for a couple of years, the Bay is adamant about making a run for the NBA finals this season. Despite being injured before the playoffs, Stephen Curry has been the main offensive threat for the Warriors. However, one reporter made him extremely happy after calling him a two-way player.

Curry is the biggest reason the game of basketball is going through a three-point revolution. The three-point king has changed the game forever and more and more players are looking to develop a three-point shot. However, while his offensive contributions are clear, these playoffs showed his work on defense. The Baby Face Assassin played some lock-down defense in the playoffs, especially in the recent series against the Memphis Grizzlies.

And when one of the reporters acknowledged his contributions, Curry was over the moon.

Stephen Curry a two-way player

It is common fact that Curry is one of the best offensive players of this generation. Not only does he have the three-pointer down pack. But his finishing around the rim is extremely underrated. Despite coming off an injury, Curry managed to lead the Warriors averaging nearly 27 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game. He forms the core of the entire Warriors’ offense because of the attention he gets from the defenders.

However, this season, Steph’s game saw a major change. For the longest time, there was one major criticism about Curry. Everyone said he is a liability on defense. And it seems the Chef took that personally. Stephen Curry managed to make some important defensive plays which turned out to be monumental in the Warriors’ journey to the Western Conference finals. Notably, he even blocked a shot by Ja Morant to clinch the game for his side.

Hence, when he was called a two-way player by the reporter, Stephen Curry gave out the best reaction one could ask for. And fans loved every second of it.

While numbers don’t do him justice, Curry has surely refined his defensive skills. At one point in the season, the Golden State Warriors were the best defensive team in the league. Steph doesn’t carry a heavy burden on that end, but his contributions make a huge difference to the side. Curry has transitioned from an easy matchup to someone who will make it hard for a guard to score.
