Monaco Grand Prix weekend is different from any other F1 race weekend. It not only attracts the big-name celebrities from across the globe but also brings out interesting vehicles to the principality. Drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen ditch their fancy cars for two wheels and boats in Monaco.

On most race weekends, drivers will head to the track in their luxurious cars. But in Monaco, because of a lack of space, they have to resort to changing their mode of transportation.

Lewis Hamilton rides his fancy motorbike in Monaco

The Mercedes driver has a wide variety of cars in his collection, such as the Mercedes AMG One, McLaren P1, and Mercedes EQS. But he is also a lover of motorbikes and rides them whenever the opportunity arises.

Hence, he brought out his MV Agusta, which he rode to the track with his trainer Angela Cullen. Just like him, his former Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas too brought out his own MV Agusta coming in with his girlfriend.

Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo, and Lance Stroll chose to head to the track on their own boats. Hometown hero Charles Leclerc rode on his bicycle, accompanied by his girlfriend on all four days.

While four-time world champion, Sebastian Vettel rode in on his new bicycle. His new bicycle is custom made for him by the British brand J. Laverack and he looked thrilled with his new ride.

We often see Vettel arriving on the tracks on his bikes. Being one of the few environmentally conscious drivers on the grid, he has often mentioned that he prefers to come to the track on his bicycle rather than arriving in a car.

He revealed he prefers heading to the track on his bikes, as he wants to avoid the fuss and traffic. Seb also mentioned that by arriving on his bikes, he can get an extra training session in.

“For me, riding a bike isn’t about going as fast as you can. The sense of personal achievement you get from cycling is such a huge reward, getting to the top of a climb, it’s the best,” said Vettel.

“Riding to the circuits isn’t about getting an extra bit of training in. I find it much more pleasurable than sitting in a car in traffic. Most of the races are in busy cities and if it’s 20 minutes by car in traffic or 20 minutes on a bike–a million times over, I’ll choose the bike,” said Seb.

It is certainly interesting to see F1 drivers riding their way into the track rather than driving their company cars. This just shows how relaxed and laid-back some of the drivers are off the track.
