NETFLIX’s new series, The Tinder Swindler, is based on the life of conman Shimon Hayut who posed as Lev Leviev’s son.

Calling himself Simon Leviev, he pretended to be the son of the billionaire, known as the “King of Diamonds“, to con women out of their money.

How many children does Simon Leviev have?

Leviev does not have any children.

The reason why people think he does, was because it is reported in Netflix’s Tinder Swindler that he told one of the women he conned that he had a child..

The conman, born Shimon Yehuda Hayut, reportedly told one of his victims, Cecilie Fjellhøy, about his past, telling her about a supposed daughter.

In the documentary, Cecilie admitted feeling emotional when Leviev told her about his child as it proved him to be a proud father and a good man. 

It then came to light that his “baby mama” and “daughter” were fabricated as part of a plan to trick Cecilie into trusting him. 

She claims in the documentary that it was all part of the “ploy to convince her he was, who he was saying to her he was”.

What has Simon Leviev said about his daughter?

Leviev hasn’t publically spoken about his fabricated “daughter”.

However in the Tinder Swindler, victim Cecilie reveals when she boarded a private plane with him, the “mother of his child” and his “daughter” were both on the flight.

Leviev told her that they would be travelling with him and that he was on “good terms” with his “ex”, so that he could be a “good father” to his “daughter”.

The identity of this woman is not known, however she did testify against Leviev when he was eventually arrested and put on trial.

When he was finally charged in 2019, it was for the forgery, theft and fraud, which he denied.

Leviev was sentenced to 15 months in prison but only served five months in the end, after being released for good behaviour.
