EASTENDERS would have the highest home insurance claims for plot-line disasters — while sleepy Neighbours was the safest of all soaps, analysis shows.
Experts reckon residents of Albert Square in pricey East London would have claimed £1.7million since 1992 for calamities including house fires and Queen Vic blazes.

Ramsay Street had the fewest disasters, totalling just £376,000 in more than three decades until the soap ended on Friday.
Emmerdale was second highest at £1.5million.
Next was Hollyoaks with £983,000, Home and Away clocked up £863,000 and Coronation Street was second safest with £384,000 in damage.
Insurance firm Urban Jungle, which did the study, said: “Life is pretty risky in soapland — especially in Albert Square.”

Soap expert Laura-Jayne Tyler said: “There have been scores of unimaginable disasters to rock our favourite soap characters and their properties over the years – bringing maximum drama to the globe’s best-loved television programmes.
“As we bid a tearful farewell to Neighbours, it’s comforting to learn that Ramsay Street was a relatively safe place to be.”
The rebuild cost is estimated on properties’ location and size.
