Alfred Molina has admitted he was worried about how Spider-Man: No Way Home bosses would deal with his ‘chins’ and ‘wrinkles’ in the movie as he returned as character Doc Ock after 17 years, having first played the part in 2004’s Spider-Man 2.
The actor, 68, reprised his role as as the villainous Otto Octavius in the third instalment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man films, which was released in December.
He has opened up about how he might look on the silver screen in an unseen bonus interview available on the 4K ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD home entertainment version.

When asked about making his comeback, Alfred joked: ‘Oh, for me it was just about the money and that’s it.
‘No, oddly enough, William (Dafoe) and I were joking the other day about 20 years since his first Green Goblin, 17 years since my first time as Doc Ock and these are the longest options that a studio has ever exercised on actors.
‘When the idea was first suggested, my first thought was, “Hang on, I’m 17 years older, I’ve got chins, I’ve got wrinkles, what are they going to do,” and then, of course, I suddenly realised, “Wait a minute, they’ve got the technology, this isn’t going to be a problem.”‘
It was announced in 2020 that Alfred would be making his return to the Marvel franchise as Doctor Octopus in the new Spider-Man film.

First gracing the big screen as the character in Spider-Man 2 alongside Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, Alfred has become synonymous with the role.
Alfred previously spoke fondly of his time as Doc Ock when asked if he would ever return to the franchise.
He told Collider: ‘That was the most fun I think I’ve ever had on a movie of that kind.’
‘Those big, big sort of features where you spend like six months hanging off a wire, you know. It was the first movie of that kind that I’d ever been involved in. I had a wonderful time.’

He continued to say that he absolutely ‘loved it’, while adding, ‘I’d go back and do it again in a heartbeat.’
Meanwhile, Willem Dafoe, 66, also returned to his role as Norman Osborn, also known as the Green Goblin, for Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The actor portrayed the super villain in the original Spider-Man film from 2002.
On his return, he said in the new bonus interview.: ‘When I heard it, I thought, “Well, that’s pretty nutty” but I thought, “OK, they can figure out a way to bring be back,” but it was really the pitch, and it sounded like a lot of fun and a good solution.
