PHLLIP Schofield came under fire from This Morning viewers today for making a scone the ‘wrong way’.
Celebrity chef James Martin treated Holly Willoughby and Phillip to the tasty snacks in the studio, supplying them with butter, cream and jam to eat them with.
Phillip was shocked when James said the best way to layer up a scone was to put butter on before the cream.
His reaction surprised some viewers, who felt it was the only way to eat one.
One wrote on Twitter: “No butter on a scone! @james-jacksonsmartinchef what kind of chaos is happening on @thismorning sacrilege.”
Another posted: “How is this even a question?? You may stay away from Ireland Phil if you don’t want to put butter in your scone 🤣.”
A third said: “Lol 😆 Mr Schofield’s never had butter… with jam & cream on a scone in his whole life 🤯.”
A fourth shared: “100% agree with @jamesmartinchef that butter needs to be on a scone with the jam and cream! It’s just not the same without it! #ThisMorning.”

Later in the episode Phillip rigged the Spin to Win on This Morning so that a superfan took home the £3,000 jackpot in a sweet moment.
Stunned social worker Sally-Ann, from King’s Lynn, screamed ecstatically as she initially won £2,000, telling the hosts she would buy a new sofa.
It prompted Phil to return to the wheel and move the ticker so it settled on £3,000, leaving her even more delighted.
