What did Tim Considine do during retirement?

Tim Considine was a man of many passions, but he found his primary enjoyment later in life working on cars with former child actor and industrial engineer, David Stollery.

But their affinity for the mechanics of vehicles started decades ago as child actors on the set of Her 12 Men in 1953.

Stollery and Considine sat down with The Los Angeles Times in 1995 to discuss how their unlikely friendship began.

“I was a bashful kid,” Considine told the new outlet, saying he was intimidated by the other child actors. “… They were all really animated and jumping around and stuff. David was kind of quiet, but we hit it off. We had similar interests: cars and girls, and at that time it was much more cars than girls.”

Years later in 2018, Considine told Boomers Magazine he and Stollery had found enjoyment in automobiles because “we’re both car nuts.”

Speaking about the versatility of his life and the relationships he’s formed with not only Stollery but former My Three Sons co-star Stanley Livingston, Considine said, “I’m fortunate to have been in Sons and to have worked with people who I still love.

“At different times in my life, I wanted to do different things — and I did.”
