Physically she is back to normal but something has changed in her mindset.
I really miss my fun girl. I’m 56 and she is 51.
Instead of the positive woman I married, I now live with someone who is surly and resentful of everything and everyone.
The cat loved curling up with her and the dog loved playing with her, but they both give her a wide berth these days – like the rest of the family.
She used to have so much get up and go but now even lacks the energy to make a cup of tea.
Before, she was a tidy size 12 but she has put on a lot of weight.
She’s now a size 18. While I still fancy her, she hates her new shape and seems angry about it.

DEIDRE SAYS: It does sound like she might be suffering with depression.
Do ask her to go and see her GP about this low mood.
Also, she is likely to be going through the menopause, which can cause some weight gain and depression.
Your wife should ask for possible treatments to help with this as well
