Congratulations to Keke Wyatt and her husband, Zackariah David Darring, who welcomed their baby, a boy, on Friday, May 27, 2022. Keke took to Instagram on Wednesday (Jun. 1) to announce the arrival of the family’s newest member.
“My husband, Zackariah, and I are grateful to GOD to announce the birth of our miracle baby boy, Ke’Zyah Jean Darring” Keke shared with her Instagram fans. “Most of you are familiar with the challenges I faced during this pregnancy,” the recording artist said in reference to her son being diagnosed with the genetic disorder Trisomy 13. Babies diagnosed with such a condition have a high probability of dying before birth, which is why some doctors present the notion of aborting the child.
“My husband and I made the decision not to accept the medical specialist’s suggestion to terminate our baby early despite the positive Trisomy 13 test results,” Wyatt shared with her fans.
“We appreciate and thank God for all of the doctors in the medical field. However, I can’t stress enough to all mothers and couples, when the doctor gives you life-changing information about your unborn child … pray about it, use faith, and follow your spirit before making ANY final decision,” Keke advised.
“We believed the report of the Lord and after holding our beautiful healthy baby boy Ke’Zyah, and looking into his eyes, I’m glad we did,” Keke said.
Keke Wyatt was transparent about her baby’s Trisomy 13 diagnosis during a concert in March. Most gave the singer immeasurable support. A few Internet trolls, however, pointed to the notion of Wyatt having ten kids as the reason for her then-unborn son potentially developing a disorder. Some even went so far as to wish ill on both Keke and her son.
“For all of the disgusting people out there that are wishing ill on me and my baby. Say what y’all want about me, I’m used to it … No weapon formed against me will prosper anyway,” Wyatt wrote in response to the backlash. “[But] an innocent unborn baby,” Keke asked. “I pray that God gives you grace when Life comes knocking on your front door and you won’t reap what you are sowing.”
Ke’Zyah Jean Darring is Keke Wyatt’s eleventh child. The newborn is the singer’s second with her husband.
