Authorities say that Xichen Yang, a 21-year-old Florida pool technician, killed his 21-year-old new wife, Nhu Quynh Pham, whose body was found in their Altamont Springs home on Tuesday.
On Thursday, Xichen Yang went to court for the first time, but Seminole County Judge Wayne Culver didn’t let him out on bail.
The New York Post said that Xichen Yang and Nhu Quynh Pham’s marriage was unstable because the police had been called to their home three times in the last six months to deal with fights. The last time they went to Pham’s house was about two weeks before he died.

On Tuesday, the police went to the house to do a normal check on the health of the family. They found Nhu Quynh Pham’s body in the bathtub. Her neck had been cut with a knife.
Police knew right away that Xichen Yang was a person of interest, and according to the charge sheet, they got him to admit to killing the man. Yang is being charged with murder in the first degree.

ClickOrlando says that Xichen Yang and Nhu Quynh Pham had a hard time getting along. Yang was charged with hitting Pham in January of this year, but the charges were later dropped.
The last time the police went to Yang’s house to talk to him, it was because the 21-year-old man was allegedly hurting himself. In a press release, Michelle Montalvo, a spokeswoman for the police, explained what had happened.
A Seminole County arrest report says that Yang called his neighbor Michael Cole Rathel and told him that he killed Yang’s wife. Rathel then called the police.
The complaint says that Yang was found lying in a pool of his wife’s blood. People News says that he told the police and his bosses that he killed her because she burned his passport and did other “unspeakable things” to him.
The police said Yang told them that after cutting his wife’s throat, he carried her to the bathtub and held her hand as she died.
Yang will be brought before a judge on August 2, 2022.
