On Wednesday night, Brett Kavanaugh was seen running away from a Morton’s steakhouse in Washington, D.C. Kavanaugh left the steakhouse when a group of protesters gathered outside to show their disagreement with his vote to throw out Roe v. Wade.
When the protesters got close to the restaurant, the Supreme Court Justice quickly left through the back door.
Justice Brett Kavanaugh slips from back door amid protests
Brett is one of the six ultraconservative Supreme Court judges who voted in June 2022 to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Simply put, Morton’s steakhouse made Brett leave through the back door so he wouldn’t bother other customers. The protesters called the restaurant’s manager to ask Kavanaugh to come out, the restaurant said. But the group that planned the action later told everyone what had happened.
Later, they also said that Brett Kavanaugh had sneaked out and that Morton’s should be “ashamed” for letting a man in who clearly hates women.
At the same time, the protesters in D.C. are upset with Morton’s steakhouse for not giving them the right “to eat dinner” after the chaos. In the same way, a worker said that the protesters were bothering the customers while they were eating dinner.
On the other hand, people who are angry about the court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade are making more fake reservations at the restaurant. The ruling took away the right to have an abortion in many US states.
Angry protesters have called and made fake reservations at Morton’s, but they haven’t shown up. But this isn’t just true of the restaurant where Brett Kavanaugh ate. Morton’s steakhouses all over the country say they have had the same problem.
