Isaac Argro, 22, was booked days after Azsia Johnson, 20, was killed while walking with her three-month-old in the Upper East Side.

The 22-year-old suspect was initially dubbed a person of interest, CBS News reported.

The New York Police Department announced his arrest and charges in a statement late Friday.

NYPD began investigating on Wednesday after someone approached Johnson and shot her in the head as she was pushing her baby in the stroller.

Police said that a hooded man shot her from behind at point-blank range.

RETRACING SON’S STEPS

She was found unconscious at the scene and taken to Metropolitan Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to multiple sources. Her baby was unharmed.

A chilling final text by Johnson revealed that she was apparently meeting with the father of her three-month-old “to work things out” on the day of the murder, police told ABC7.

Johnson, an aspiring pediatric nurse, also has a one-year-old son.

“I knew it was going to come to this, and I told my daughter this,” Johnson’s heartbroken mother, Lisa Desort, told ABC7.

“For some reason, she felt like she needed to be tracked, so she text her sister and said, ‘This is my location, just in case.’”

Argro has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with Johnson’s tragic death, according to Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell.

“@NYPDDetectives continue to be relentless in their pursuit of justice,” he wrote in a Tweet.

‘VIOLENT HISTORY’

Johnson was reportedly a victim of domestic violence and a complaint was filed against her partner in January, according to Desort.

“The city failed my daughter because on January 1, my daughter called me and said she was being abused while she was six months pregnant,” Desort told NBC New York.

“She was scared to call the police so she gave me the address. I called police,” said Desort.

Police responded and made sure Johnson was safe, according to Desort, and Johnson had come to live with her after the incident.

On one occasion, in January, Johnson called her mother in the middle of a violent episode.

“She called me crying, saying, ‘Mommy, he’s hitting me.’ And she was hysterical,” Desort told The New York Times.

Desort told the news outlet that she reported the incident to the police, but the man continued to threaten Johnson and her family.

“He said, ‘I’m going to kill you and all of the birds that go along with you,’” Desort claimed.

Johnson eventually ended up in a domestic violence shelter, NBC reported.

“I tried to protect my daughter in every way,” her mother said.

“She had to leave my house, she couldn’t live there because he knew where I lived.”

Mayor Eric Adams released a statement following news of Argro’s arrest.

“Azsia Johnson’s family is hurting, they deserve justice, and we will deliver it,” he wrote.

“I’m relieved to report to New Yorkers that we have captured the individual who we believe murdered this young woman as she walked with her baby.
