BODYCAM footage shows the moment a police sniper killed a man as he held a baby hostage following a high-speed chase.
Police officers had originally been hunting for Oscar Alcantar, 30, in connection with an incident when a weapon had allegedly been brandished in St George, Utah.

Officers tracked Alcantara down to a church, but when police pulled over a car he was in, a woman jumped out and told cops that he had a gun and was holding her baby hostage.
Alacantara then drove off at high speed, and lead police on a chase which ended in the desert of northwestern Arizona.
A standoff then ensued, as Alcantara held the infant at gunpoint while officers pleaded with him to let the child go.
Body camera footage released to TV station KUTV captured the ordeal as officers shouted, “Oscar, stop! We don’t want to hurt you!”
Officers continued to negotiate with Alcantara but noticed that Alcantara began to point his gun at them.
“The gun is pointed right at us! Gun pointed at us!” an officer says on the video.
The footage then shows police snipers getting into position and aiming at Alcantara.

About an hour into the terrifying ordeal, a sniper takes the shot and kills Alcantara.
Once the shot is fired, officers can be seen running to get the child.
“I got child, I got child, come here baby,” can be heard in the audio.
Thankfully, the infant was not harmed at all.
The standoff happened in February of this year, but the video for the incident was recently released to the public after KUTV submitted a public records request.
The Mohave County Attorney’s Office is reviewing the video and speaking with witnesses and officers involved at the scene.
