DETECTIVES have charged a PCSO who was part of a specialist team tackling online crime in connection with a series of sexual offences.
James Land, 43, has been charged with allegedly making indecent images of children while serving as an officer for Derbyshire Police, East Midlands.
He has been charged with three counts of making indecent images, one count of possessing extreme images and six counts of voyeurism.
Land, from Wales, has been a serving police officer for Derbyshire Police since 2007, and has reportedly been working for their Cyber Crime Unit since 2017.
He has been working in their unit in Ripley, for the past four years, but has been with the force for fifteen years.
Police confirmed that he had suspended from his role as a PCSO while the investigation was ongoing.
He is due to appear at Chesterfield Magistrates Court in March.
A spokesman for Derbyshire Constabulary said: “A man has been charged with ten offences, including allegedly making indecent images of children.
“James Land, who lives in Wales, has been charged with three counts of making indecent images, one count of possessing extreme images and six counts of voyeurism. He is due to appear before magistrates in Chesterfield in March.
“The 43-year-old was suspended from his role as a PCSO, based in Ripley, while the investigation has taken place and remains suspended.”
