A BUILDER convinced doctors to delay his wife’s C-section by a few minutes so his baby boy could be born at exactly 2.02am on 22nd February 2022.
Sam Bailey realised the significance of the date when his wife Harriet went into labour 12 days overdue with their first child.

Little Edward Arthur’s birthday is an ambigram – meaning it reads the same way both up and down and back to front – thanks to his dad’s clever thinking while his mum was on anaesthetic.
Sam, 37, from Headley in Surrey, said: “I hadn’t set out to make it a day to remember.
But as Harriet became ever more overdue I saw the possibility of a 222 date getting closer.
“Having a Caesarean made it possible for the team to hang on for a few minutes.
“Obviously if there had been any danger by delaying the procedure for even a few minutes I wouldn’t have considered it. But they liked the idea and went along with it.”
Epsom General Hospital confirmed Baby Bailey was born at 2.02am on 22 February – making his birthday one to remember for the maternity team – born at 02.02 on 22.02.22.
Back home with baby Ed Harriet, 33, said: “If it had been a normal delivery and Sam had done anything to prolong the birth I would have killed him.
”But I was floating peacefully away on the drugs. Afterwards I thought it was quite cool. And it’s something that little Ted can boast about for the rest of his life.”
Little Ed weighed in at 8.6lbs when he was delivered at Epsom General Hospital on Tuesday.
