THE body of a missing 21-year-old woman was discovered tied up and riddled with bullets on a country road in an apparent execution-style killing.
Ellen Nascimento da Silva had left her family’s home in Brasnorte, west-central Brazil, on April 19 to visit a friend’s house.
According to her mother, she left the house at around 9pm carrying nothing but her mobile phone.
She said her daughter had planned to go travelling and had even packed a suitcase, but decided to leave it at home.
It was the last time she would see her daughter alive, and her horrifically wounded body was found dumped on a rural street three days after she left home.
Her hands were bound and her body was covered in gunshot wounds.
Brazil’s investigative police force the Civil Police said her body was spotted by a tractor driver who works at a nearby farm on a bend in the road.
It was already severely decomposed when it was spotted.
The tractor driver called the police, and the body was identified as that of Ellen after a forensic examination.
Her heartbroken father also confirmed the body was his daughter.
