Stephen Curry has been universally acclaimed as the greatest shooter in the history of basketball. However, the Golden State Warriors superstar didn’t just develop his three-point shot overnight. In fact, Stephen Curry had to go through an arduous journey in high school to completely rebuild his shot from the ground up in order to have a realistic chance of succeeding at the highest level.

However, he shot from his waist area. As a result, Dell Curry had to step in and change his shot completely. Because shooting from the hip at Steph’s height would always get blocked by a defender.

No, you have to move it above your head,” Dell advised his son. “Because it’s gonna get blocked if you shoot from the hip, from the waist area.”

Therefore, Steph Curry started modifying his shot based on his dad’s prescription. However, it soon turned out to be a very frustrating exercise. In fact, the future unanimous MVP didn’t shoot from beyond the arc for a month.
