Justin Thomas has won the USPGA Championship for the second time in his career after beating Will Zalatoris in a play-off in Oklahoma.
After both players finished the final round of the tournament on -5, the title was decided in a three-hole contest – the first time one had been required in a men’s major since the 2017 Masters.
The pair both scored birdies on the first hole, before Thomas took the lead on the second hole with a birdie after Zalatoris could only tap in for par. The 29-year-old then claimed a simple par on the third to win the title, five years on from the first time he had done so.
