Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick will be backed by the Glazers in January, according to reports, with the interim coach facing disharmony in his squad amid a turbulent campaign.
The German boss has not managed to quell the feeling of unease at Old Trafford this season after he suffered his first defeat in charge – a 1-0 home loss to Wolves on Monday night, with his tactics and decsion-making coming into question.
But despite spending around £126million on three high profile signings last summer in Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo, United’s squad still looks short on quality in a handful of areas, and the Times report that Rangnick will be given transfer funds to spend this month.

United have been linked with a handful of players, including Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara, who Rangnick has worked with before at the German club, and Sportsmail understands the Red Devils are looking at bolstering their midfield.
Rangnick may need to bring in new recruitments to oversee an upturn in form as it is claimed he faces up to 11 players feeling disillusioned at the club.
The Wolves defeat has added to a fractured group, according to the Mirror, with the bad feeling in the dressing room set to cause problems for Rangnick.
A source told the website: ‘It’s not good. The atmosphere is really bad and it looks like there are going to be big problems ahead for United.’

Rangnick has been trying to change the dynamic at the club following their awful start to the season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that saw the Norwegian sacked as the team battles for a top four spot – despite being one of the favourites for the title.
Sportsmail reported this week how the mood at the club has been described as ‘oppressive’, with players calling it the worst atmosphere they have ever been involved in at United.
Luke Shaw said this week that he felt the players weren’t ‘together’ during their poor loss to Wolves, which will only add to the feeling of discontent.
