Andrew Garfield‘s decision to take a break from acting was reportedly driven by a desire to reconcile his relationship with his ex-girlfriend Alyssa Miller.
The Spiderman star, 38, revealed earlier this week that he will be taking a ‘break’ from Hollywood for around ‘a month or two’ as he wants to ‘ordinary for a while’.
And it has now been claimed that his decision was influenced by a desire to rekindle his romance with model Alyssa, 32, as he wants to ‘settle down’ and can see a ‘future’ with her.

‘Andrew’s decision to take a break was driven by a lot of factors and one of them was Alyssa. They had something really special and their time apart has made him think twice,’ a film source told The Sun.
‘Of course it is early days but he’s made it clear a reconciliation is something he wants to work towards.’
MailOnline has contacted Andrew’s representatives for comment.
Last month, it was reported that Andrew and Alyssa went their separate ways as their hectic work schedules made it ‘hard to see each other’.

And in an interview with Variety this week, Andrew said he will be stepping back from acting in order to ‘rest for a little bit’ and ‘be a bit ordinary’.
The actor – who had several high-profile projects in 2021 – confessed: ‘I need to recalibrate and reconsider what I want to do next and who I want to be, and just be a bit of a person for a while.’
The star also compared the awards season to a churning ‘washing machine’ saying: ‘That is a washing machine, that awards season.’
Andrew has since clarified during an appearance on The View that he is not quitting or retiring from acting, but just wants to take a ‘break’ for perhaps ‘a month or two’.
Appearing on the show to promote his new FX TV series Under the Banner of Heaven with co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones, he told the panel: ‘I’m just having a holiday.’

‘I’ve been working hard and I’ve been loving the work that I’m doing, but also, I need to take a month or so. A month of a break, maybe two,’ he added.
He has been working non-stop for over a year, with movies such as The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Spider-Man: No Way Home, tick… tick… BOOM! and Under the Banner of Heaven.
It comes after Andrew allegedly split with his girlfriend Alyssa last month as their work schedules made it ‘hard to see each other’.
The Spider-Man star was first linked to the American model last November.

While Sports Illustrated beauty Alyssa accompanied the film star to February’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, Andrew attended last month’s Oscars solo, where he lost out on the Best Actor award to Will Smith.
A source told The Sun: ‘Andrew and Alyssa were a really beautiful couple and things were going great at first.
‘They were together for quite some time before they went public, but work schedules mean it has been really hard to see each other.
‘On top of that it became clear that there were some differences between them and it was decided they are better off apart, for now at least.’

The source added that it has been ‘disappointing’ for Andrew, who would have loved to share the awards season with ‘someone he loved’, but it has been said he is taking time for himself and keeping his chin up.
The couple were first linked in November of last year when they were spotting holding hands in New York City.
