Ant McPartlin had an animated phone call while filming the second Britain’s Got Talent semi-final at the Hammersmith Apollo on Tuesday.

The TV presenter, 46, was seen playfully sticking two fingers up to a person he was chatting to while on a break from the show.

The star, who hosts the ITV show with Declan Donnelly, appeared in good spirits as he grinned at his phone while vaping.

Ant cut a casual figure for the rehearsals as he sported a grey printed jumper with a pair of navy jeans.

The presenter stood on the balcony of the venue which is hosting the semi-finals of the show throughout this week before the final on Sunday.

It comes after Simon Cowell urged ITV to sign presenting duo Ant and Dec to lifetime contracts as they enter talks to extend their stay with the broadcasting giant.

The popular pair are believed to be considering a mammoth £30million golden handcuffs deal that would tie them to ITV for three additional years beyond the remaining 12-months on their current contract.

And Simon, who has worked with the presenters for more than two decades on shows including Pop Idol and Britain’s Got Talent, believes they are too good to lose to a rival channel.

He told The Mirror: ‘I’d sign them up for ever. Ant and Dec are the best. There’s no question. There’s nobody like them.

‘I’ve known them now for over 20 years. They really are fun, but their brilliance is understanding the audience of the show. They really relate to the audience and they haven’t changed at all. They’re very nice people.

‘And, importantly, they love the acts. If I was running ITV, I wouldn’t think twice about it.’

As well as long-running talent show BGT, the pair also host ITV staples Limitless Win, Saturday Night Takeaway and legendary endurance based series I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The second live show of Britain’s Got Talent saw impressionist Ben Nickless win the public vote, as he heads to the next stage alongside runner-up singers Flintz & T4ylor, who were voted for by David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Simon.

Amber And The Dancing Collies – who were also in the top three – were unfortunately sent home after performing a swashbuckling routine on Tuesday.
