It is approaching a year since she made her television debut on the nation’s favourite dating show.

And Love Islander Liberty Poole, who has since appeared on ITV‘s Dancing On Ice, has detailed her personal growth over the past twelve months – and why she is more open to dating.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Liberty, 22, said if she were to partake in the ITV2 reality show again, viewers would see different sides to her.

‘I do feel like I’ve learned a lot this past year. It’s been so much personal growth, like if I was to go on Love Island again this year, you’d probably see different sides to me that you didn’t see last year, because of how much growth I’ve had in the space of a year,’ she said.

The Brummie beauty – who recently partnered with Just Eat – was lauded by the show’s viewers last year for recognising her self-worth when she ended her relationship with then boyfriend Jake Cornish and left the villa just days before the final.

Reflecting on her journey, she said: ‘Back then I was always thinking about other people’s feelings. I still think about people’s feelings now but I think I put myself first more now.’

With a ‘hot girl summer’ on the horizon, the influencer is looking ahead to sun-soaked holidays and spending quality time with friends – but dating is not something she has put entirely on the backburner.

‘When I came out of Love Island, I’d had a break-up and I was so focused on myself. I was so busy, with Dancing On Ice as well.

‘At this moment in time, I’d be more open to [a relationship]. Someone has to be the full package for me to want to spend time with them. I know my self worth,’ she said.

Liberty’s stint on the show may have thrust her hook, line, and sinker into the limelight, but she explained how she ‘doesn’t expect to be recognised.’

She admitted: ‘It’s surreal for me, because I still feel like me. It’s hard to get used to sometimes.’

The public eye is a tricky place to navigate a relationship, as Liberty alluded to: ‘I think you just have to be careful. You do get questions in your head like are people genuine and stuff.’

Liberty’s steadfast friendship with fellow Love Island contestant Kaz Kamwi has only got stronger.

They recently holidayed in Los Angeles – Liberty’s first trip across the pond – and the best friends have joined forces to launch Pull You For A Chat-Line – a resident Wing Woman service to answer all friendship and relationship dilemmas ahead of the 2022 Love Island season launch.

The advice service comes as new research shows that half (50%) of Brits find dating difficult, with one in four singletons (26%) confessing that they are wary of venturing into the dating scene.

Kaz added: ‘Every relationship has issues at one point or another, and having a best friend to turn to is so important.

‘I’m happy to be one of Just Eat’s Wing Women alongside my bestie Lib, to answer all relationship and friendship dilemmas, and hopefully help get relationships back on track.’
