Elizabeth Sobinoff has slashed out after a troll slammed her for receiving a disability pension.
The former Married at First Sight star underwent surgery this week to get some ‘underlying health issues’ sorted, after being misdiagnosed for a decade, and revealed that at times she’s had to seek welfare due to illness.
One person took umbrage with that confession, causing the 30-year-old to reply on Instagram on Sunday.

‘To the insensitive DM I received saying how could someone like me receive a disability pension. What happened to me was horrific,’ she wrote.
‘I had a misdiagnosis and was so medicated. I had my mid to late teens and early to mid twenties taken away from me. I was so sick/over medicated I was going to the bathroom on myself,’ she went on.
‘I was a vegetable with drool. Literally. I was in hell. I will NEVER EVER apologise for my determination and will power. Trying to figure out chronic illness can be so messed up.’

Lizzie continued: ‘Don’t EVER assume you know someone due to pictures or a tv show. I’m not to blame for your perception of me. I will never apologise for my hard work that I put in to become who ram today. I’m damn proud of myself.’
On Friday the star revealed she has been diagnosed with ‘endometriosis, ovarian cysts and bowel adhesions’ after months of trying to figure out what was wrong.
In a lengthy post, Lizzie began: ‘Endometriosis, ovarian cysts and bowel adhesions. I had surgery this week. Some people closest to me knew I was trying to get some underlying health issues sorted.
Lizzie wrote: ‘Don’t EVER assume you know someone due to pictures or a tv show. I’m not to blame for your perception of me. I will never apologise for my hard work that I put in to become who ram today. I’m damn proud of myself’
‘I started trying to figure it all out last year (many posts throughout my feed last year talking about my anxiety about this, the reel with the chilly dips trying to refocus) after delaying it for quite a while due to my fear of doctors.’
She said her fear of doctors stemmed from a ‘misdiagnosis’ which consumed a ‘decade of her life’ and left her on a disability pension.
‘I had every right to be fearful, but that’s another issue,’ she added. ‘Last year I was told I most likely had Crohn’s disease / inflammatory bowel disease. It’s nice to finally have some answers.’

She then thanked her girlfriends who ‘pointed her in the right direction’, and the people that ‘listened to me cry’ through her journey.
‘Thankful for my beautiful parents, my beautiful partner and the girls who let me me openly talk about this and gave me comfort,’ she added.
Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb starts to grow in other places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes.

The condition can cause considerable pain for sufferers and have an impact on fertility.
