On Sunday night, Tyler Reddick finally got the monkey off his back. When the 2022 Cup Series kicked off, the #8 Richard Childress Racing driver was on the ball immediately. He rattled off four Top 5 finishes, including two-second places before finally reaching Victory Lane. Reddick was so good that Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing’s Chris Buescher wondered how this was his first career win.

Buescher exclaimed, “He’s not got a win yet? Really? I honestly thought he did. That’s actually surprising because they’ve been really good. That’s definitely nice to finally break through that one.”

With this triumph, Tyler Reddick finally has wins in all three series at NASCAR’s top level. That Kwik Trip 250 victory adds to his three wins in the Camping World Truck Series and 10 from the Xfinity Series. The win could not have come at a better time, as he is competing in his third full-time Cup Series season.

What next for Tyler Reddick after his maiden Cup Series triumph?

With the win in the bag, Reddick is officially in the Playoffs. This is not exactly new territory, because he qualified last year as well and finished 13th in the championship. Now, the driver is aiming to improve on that and hopefully be a surprise contender for the title. Admittedly, him winning the title could be a stretch, but it could be a fairytale situation for Richard Childress Racing.

The last time they won the Cup Series championship was all the way back in 1994. At that time, the one who brought the title was none other than the late great Dale Earnhardt. Of course, Reddick will have to contend with many strong drivers for the championship. This includes the likes of the Hendrick quartet and the Joe Gibbs Racing drivers. Even the Trackhouse Racing duo have become dark horses in the competition.
